One of my favorite philosophical tenets is that people will agree with you only if they already agree with you. You do not change people's minds.
Communism doesn't work because people like to own stuff.
You do have to change things as warfare changes.
The problem is when you are writing something in retrospective it needs a lot of courage not to change or you will forget a certain reality and you will just take in consideration your view today.
