I don't think it's possible to have a sense of tragedy without having a sense of humor.
It's surprising to me how many of my friends send Christmas cards or holiday...
Humor results when society says you can't scratch certain things in public...
Since my retirement I've spent a lot of time trying to help the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina. A society like this just can't afford an uneducated underclass of citizens.
