Most Americans aren't the sort of citizens the Founding Fathers expected they are contented serfs. Far from being active critics of government they assume that its might makes it right.
I hope someday we will be able to proclaim that we have banished hunger in the United States and that we've been able to bring nutrition and health to the whole world.
